Job summary

BA Cityflyer is seeking a Maintrol Engineer to act as the central coordination point between Line Stations, maintenance providers and pilots, ensuring safe, reliable daily operations from our Manchester base.

You will manage maintenance activities, monitor ADDs, support aircraft recovery, and provide real-time technical guidance to crews, while prioritising workload in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

  • UK/EASA Part 66 B1 or B2 Licence is essential.
  • Experience in maintenance or maintenance control.
  • Ability to deliver cost effective solutions and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate line maintenance between stations, providers and pilots.
  • Manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities in compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor ADDs and coordinate spares, tooling and documentation.
  • Provide technical assistance to flight crews and engineers during operations.
  • Support aircraft recovery and recovery planning after incidents.
  • Allocate aircraft considering priorities across operations and engineering.
  • Improve aircraft performance using monitoring and prognostic tools.
  • Provide specialist technical support with safety and regulatory considerations.

What you'll do:

Acts as the central coordination point between Line Stations, third party maintenance providers and pilots to ensure safe and reliable daily operations.

  • Manages scheduled and unscheduled Line Maintenance activities, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and maintenance programme requirements.
  • Controls and monitors Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs), driving timely rectification and coordinating required spares, tooling and documentation.
  • Supports aircraft recovery through technical guidance, logistics coordination and oversight of crew duty time limitations.
  • Provides real time technical assistance to flight crews and engineers during in flight or ground based operational issues.
  • Coordinates information flow following aircraft incidents and contributes to recovery planning.
  • Allocates aircraft in line with operational, engineering and maintenance priorities.
  • Responsible for improving aircraft and Engineering performance through proactive use of Aircraft monitoring and prognostic tools
  • Provides specialist technical support as required with due regard for safety, technical, regulatory and commercial requirements.

What We're Looking For:
  • UK/EASA Part 66 B1 or B2 Licence
  • Experience in a maintenance or maintenance control environment
  • Proven ability to deliver cost effective solutions
  • Experience improving efficiency and reducing operational costs
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to processes
  • Good understanding of airline operations and procedures
  • Computer literate, ideally with experience in MS Office and maintenance systems
  • Experience working on Embraer 170/190 or similar technology aircraft is desirable but not essential
About our offer:

Salary : £79,812 (inclusive of shift pay) plus a non contractual discretionary incentive award.

On top of your basic salary, you'll receive:

  • This full-time role will be based in our Head Office, Didsbury, Manchester and is a shift-based role.
