Job summary

Darlington County School District is seeking a Maintenance Worker - HVAC Technician for a 260-day position. The role requires knowledge of air-conditioning and heating systems, a valid South Carolina driver’s license, and relevant certification or licensing.

The ideal candidate will perform installation and general maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment within the school system. Responsibilities include following specifications, supervising assistants, planning schedules, and providing

Qualifications

• High School diploma or high school equivalent.
• Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
• Knowledge of air-conditioning and heating systems (five years experience).
• Certificate or licensed.
• Diagnostic skill of heating and air-conditioning systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains neat appearance, courteous conduct, and works amicably with all school and maintenance personnel.
• Participates in additional training provided by the Board of Education that would relate to this field of work.
• Installs and provides general maintenance for all air-conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment.
• Works from specifications and blueprints.
• Assigns and supervises helpers, apprentices and other semi-skilled workers.
• Plans work schedules and places orders for necessary materials and equipment to perform work.
• Provides technical advice to supervisory personnel in areas related to this field.
• Possesses knowledge of materials, supplies and equipment relating to this field.
• Possesses and maintains a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
• Performs other related duties as required as well as all other duties as assigned.

Salary: $22.29/hour base salary (based on full time experience)

Available: Immediately

• A negative TB test must be on file prior to starting work
