Get out what you put in

You’ll do all the general, day-to-day repairs needed to keep our school up and running, drive the school vehicles and keep them in good working order, as well as making sure the school grounds and garden are kept neat and tidy. You’ll also be a familiar, friendly face, which means our young people might stop to chat with you. We will provide you with child safeguarding training to give you extra confidence!

One of the best environments in SEND

You’ll be joining Ashbrooke School, one of the leading SEN settings in the North East. It is a purpose-built school with specialist classrooms, extensive grounds, sporting facilities, and a new primary provision supporting young people with ADHD, ASD, SEMH, and SLCN. The school was recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

What we do for you

We recognize your efforts and reward you with a competitive salary and benefits package. You’ll have the opportunity to bring learning to life and make a real difference to our young people. Our benefits include:

  • Training: A full induction and on-the-job training

  • Flexible benefits: Options to adjust benefits such as life insurance
  • Wellbeing: Access to wellbeing tools and employee assistance programs
  • Medical cover: Reimbursements for opticians, dentists, and more, plus high-street discounts
  • Facilities: Beautiful working environments with excellent facilities
  • A 'recommend a friend' scheme offering a £1,000 bonus for each successful referral

Bring your whole self to work

Our young people come from diverse backgrounds and have different needs. Our workforce reflects that diversity to better engage, encourage, and inspire our students. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have maintenance skills, professionally or as a DIY enthusiast
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and be a team player
