Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living in Rayleigh, Essex, is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant for Dobsons House. This role offers £14.08 per hour for 20 hours per week, with a focus on repairing, maintaining, and improving the retirement community. You will engage with residents, coordinate with contractors, and support a safe, welcoming environment.

Experience in maintenance or as a caretaker is preferred. A full UK driving licence is desirable, and the role includes benefits and training opportunities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site repairs and maintenance efficiently to keep everything running smoothly.
• Identify maintenance issues and arrange specialist support when needed.
• Complete planned tasks such as decorating and routine building checks.
• Maintain safe and secure environments, including occasional gardening duties.
• Act as the main point of contact for contractors on site.
• Experience in maintenance or a caretaker role.
• Ability to identify and carry out repairs safely using tools and light machinery.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and a full UK driving licence (desirable)
