Job summary
Imperium Recruitment is seeking an experienced mechanically biased Maintenance Technician to join our engineering team at a busy distribution centre in Wakefield. You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, fault-finding and repairs to conveyors and related material-handling systems to minimise downtime and keep the site running smoothly.
The role involves working within a multi-skilled engineering team on a 3-shift pattern (Mornings, Afternoons, Nights) with 8-hour shifts, in
Qualifications
- Experience as maintenance engineer or mechanical engineer in a busy site/warehouse.
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Experience with conveyors or automated/material-handling equipment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on site equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults quickly to minimise downtime.
- Maintain conveyors, rollers, bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes and related systems.
- Complete inspections and preventative maintenance per schedules.
- Respond to breakdowns and equipment failures; ensure safe operation.
