Job summary

Vita Student in Manchester is seeking a Maintenance Operative to ensure the smooth running of our building facilities. This customer-facing role involves responding to maintenance requests across plumbing, electrical, heating, lighting and fittings, with a focus on high standards.

The role is permanent, 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am–6pm with some flexibility. You will join a team committed to safety, quality and exceptional resident experience.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
• IT literacy and basic reporting/documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests addressing issues with plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, lighting, furniture, and other equipment.
• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Inspect residence facilities to identify issues and perform scheduled maintenance tasks.
• General repairs such as fixing leaky plumbing, broken fixtures, doors, and wall repairs.
• Replace flooring, repair furniture, and touch-up painting and decorating.
• Ground works; maintain outdoor areas such as grass-cutting and hedge-trimming.
• Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
