Job summary

TT Electronics plc in Bedlington, UK, invites applications for a Maintenance Technician - Electrical Bias to improve production equipment efficiency. You will join a team of technicians performing proactive TPM tasks and reactive breakdown solutions on site.

  • Ability to prioritise urgent repairs while maintaining schedules.
  • Clear reporting and cross-functional communication.
  • HNC in Engineering Maintenance and Reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Planned preventative maintenance: routine inspection, calibration, and downtime servicing of machinery and tools to prevent breakdowns.
  • Reactive maintenance: address machine failures to minimise downtime.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs: diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical/electronic and pneumatic systems.
  • CMM: work with engineering to develop calibration, monitoring and maintenance plans including inventory, owning and executing the plan.
  • Safety Compliance: adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Documentation: maintain logs, work instructions and troubleshooting guides; keep records of maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
  • Supplier management: coordinate with outside suppliers and contractors for servicing, major repairs and specialised projects.

Role Overview And Responsibilities

At TT Electronics, Bedlington, we're hiring for a Maintenance Technician - Electrical Bias to contribute towards achieving our goals and objectives by improving the efficiency of production equipment across site. As part of a team of Technicians, you'll engage in Proactive Planned TPM tasks and reactive breakdown solutions.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Planned preventative maintenance: Conducting routine inspection, and scheduled calibrations and planned downtime servicing of machinery, plant systems, equipment and tools to prevent breakdowns.
  • Reactive maintenance: Addressing machine failures to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs: Diagnosing, repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical/ electronics and pneumatic systems.
  • CMM: Work with engineering team to develop calibration, monitoring and maintenance plans including inventory, owning and executing the plan.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to and advocating safety protocols ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining accurate logs, maintenance work instructions and troubleshooting guides. Ensure good record keeping of maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
  • Supplier management: Supervising and coordinating with outside suppliers and contractors for serving, major repairs and specialised projects.
Qualifications, Skills And Attributes
Skills, qualifications and behaviours required:
  • An understanding of mechanical engineering electrical/electronic systems and pneumatics as well as knowledge and experience in TPM.
  • Skilled in using and maintaining hand power tools and diagnostic measurement equipment.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues, making quick decisions and effective repairs.
  • The ability to prioritise urgent repairs while staying on track with routine maintenance schedules.
  • Clear concise reporting of issues to management and interacting professionally across business functions.
  • HNC or equivalent certification in Engineering Maintenance and Reliability.
  • Microsoft office skills.

This role involves manual handling as well as working at height and in confined spaces.
