Job summary

Salus Care in Scotland is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the upkeep of Moorland Home. This role involves maintaining the interior and exterior of the facility, ensuring residents' comfort, and overseeing maintenance tasks to high professional standards.

The ideal candidate will have maintenance experience and general building trade skills. A valid driver’s license is essential, as the company van will be used for fulfilling duties.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As part of the maintenance team for Moorland Home, you will be the eyes and ears for the upkeep of inside and outside of the home, including all the grounds. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the residents have a home that is kept warm and comfortable, and that all tasks are undertaken to the highest professional standards.

On occasion, depending on service needs, you will be required to provide annual leave and sickness cover for our other home in Bargoed.

A car driver is essential, as you will be required to drive the company van in order to fulfill your duties.

Our residents are at the heart of all we do, and you will be a personable individual able to communicate with residents and fellow staff to ensure the smooth running of the service.

Duties include but aren’t limited to:

• To inspect, repair and/or replace all fixtures and fittings as appropriate.
• To repair damage to buildings, fixtures and plant in consultation with the Director of Estates and Health & Safety.
• To ensure that routine programmes of maintenance are established and maintained.
• To check all electrical items for safety before use.
• To maintain and record Health and Safety checklists as identified by management.
• To ensure that the company vehicles are properly maintained.
• To ensure that grounds and external environment are maintained in a safe and attractive condition.
• To liaise, monitor and escort site contractors, to ensure safe systems are adhered to as identified by unit management and/or H.S.E specified best working practice.
• To assist management team with any requirements related to security.

• Experience of dealing with professionals and service users
