Job description

Job Summary

We currently have two vacancies within the Department of Facilities Management: 1 x Mechanically biased Maintenance Technician and 1 x Electrically biased Maintenance Technician.

To provide technical support services for the reactive/planned specialist maintenance work on a variety of hospital plant and equipment to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.

Please note, this post will be subject to Standard DBS Check.

Main Duties of the Job

Applicants should have served a recognized and registered craft apprenticeship and will have gained or be working towards an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering and possess equivalent previous hospital maintenance experience.

The post holder would be expected to carry out maintenance duties in an efficient and effective manner to support the successful delivery of a customer-focused estate maintenance service for the Trust.

Perform routine duties which may be delegated by the maintenance team leader with the minimum of supervision and have a flexible and positive approach to change.

The applicants must understand and competently work on a wide range of Building Services systems with the ability to service, test, diagnose, and repair mechanical/electrical plant and equipment.

Applicants must have the ability to deal with new situations as they arise.
