Provision of an effective maintenance service to all plant/equipment used within the refining and packing areas, with emphasis on improving plant availability & reliability.
Shift: 4 on (days), 4 off, 4 on (nights), 8 off
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet or exceed all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental targets.
- Carry out plant isolations.
- Maintain all mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems within the Process, Packing, Utilities, and Jetty sections.
- Perform reactive maintenance based on plant priorities.
- Follow maintenance plans and schedules.
- Plan, schedule, and agree on daily/weekly workloads with the Area Maintenance Leader, including Preventative, Predictive, and improvement activities.
- Coordinate plant insurance inspections and liaise with insurance inspectors as needed.
- Complete plant improvement projects as time permits.
- Supervise maintenance activities, optimizing on-site resources and contractors to ensure high-quality, timely repairs and improvements.
- Liaise with contractors, manage RAMS and PTW procedures.
- Supervise cleaning resources to maintain plant hygiene.
- Manage SAP maintenance system for budgeting, trend analysis, reliability, and inventory accuracy.
- Provide HT cover for the site when necessary, following proper training and assessment.
- Conduct detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on component failures and implement modifications to improve reliability and performance.
- Estimate costs for improvement projects and prepare capital requests.
- Participate in all stages of capital projects, including pre-delivery inspections and installation of new equipment.
- Meet with suppliers, conduct audits, and visit suppliers’ facilities as required.
- Mentor, train, and advise team members on engineering practices and maintenance issues.
- Monitor plant reliability through uptime, OEE, and lost opportunity metrics.
- Achieve performance targets related to job-specific KPIs.
- Maintain self-motivation and pursue continual personal development.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and provide long-term solutions.
- Possess multi-skilling across various engineering trades.
- Have knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental systems and procedures.
- Experience in planning and organizing engineering tasks, often involving contractors.
ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES
- Experience in maintenance within automated continuous process environments, including PLC and/or HT systems.
- Knowledge of Predictive and Preventative maintenance techniques and regimes.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Preferably an HNC/NVQ 4 in an engineering discipline, or at least a BTEC/ONC in a relevant discipline.
