Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Technician to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.

This position will be responsible for R&M across our South London network, with occasional travel to North London when required.

  • Base location: South West London – Hogsmill - Kingston. (KT1 3BW)
  • Working pattern: 45 hours a week on a shift pattern, including a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and Street works (NRSWA)/SSSTS qualification required.

What you’ll be doing as a Repair & Maintenance Technician:

You will be the Leader of a two-person R&M Team. Ensuring that all work undertaken is completed to the correct safety and quality standards.

What should you bring to the role?
  • You will have experience or training in repair and maintenance in the water industry.
  • You must be able to meet the physical demands of the role with the ability to work outdoors in all weathers.
  • Be competent in using computers and other IT equipment.
  • Use your initiative and problem-solve where repairs are required.
  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical messages in a simple way.
  • Have a can-do, positive attitude, remaining open to new ideas and change
  • Be self-motivated and confident in completing tasks to the best of your ability
  • Advantageous if you have an EUSR Water Hygiene card, Service Avoidance L2 and/or a First Aid qualification.

  • Offering a salary from £34,300 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
  • Annual Leave: 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with the length of service. (plus bank holidays)
  • Van and Full PPE will be provided.
  • Performance Related Pay Plan (PRPP): Max (of salary) = 6%. On target (of salary) = 3%.
  • Pension: Maximum of 12% - 2x employee contribution.
