Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Multi-Skilled Technician (Electrical Bias Preferred)
Location: Desford
Salary: £18.37 per hour (PAYE)
Contract Length: 12 months (Very likely to extend)
Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 06:30 - 15:00

  • Friday: 06:30 - 12:00

  • Occasional overtime available
    Start Date: ASAP
    Work Type: Fully site-based (non-negotiable)

About the Role

We are currently expanding our dynamic maintenance team and seeking two self-motivated, proactive Maintenance Technicians with an electrical bias or strong PLC experience. You'll be part of an inclusive and growing department modernising systems and driving integration and automation.

This is a varied role offering exposure to both planned and reactive maintenance across a large manufacturing site. You'll work closely with a team of 30+ engineers, contributing to continuous improvement and ensuring optimal operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide both electrical and mechanical maintenance support to equipment and facilities

  • Diagnose and repair breakdowns quickly and effectively

  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)

  • Order replacement parts and manage stocks

  • Adhere strictly to Health & Safety protocols

  • Contribute to ongoing improvement projects and integration of new systems

  • Undertake additional training and upskilling as required

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in a relevant engineering field

  • Demonstrable hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance experience

  • Ability to read technical diagrams and follow policies and procedures

  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent team collaboration and communication

Desirable:

  • Completed multi-year accredited apprenticeship

  • Familiarity with PLC systems (advantageous)

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and willingness to train on in-house systems
