At Quo Vadis Trust (QVT), we’re a mental health housing charity helping adults in South East London live more independently. We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician who wants variety, purpose, and local work with none of the hassle of long commutes or rigid routines.

The role

You’ll be the go-to person for day-to-day repairs, decorating, and small fixes across our supported housing schemes. Every task you complete helps our tenants feel safe, secure and comfortable in their homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fix and improve properties—from leaky taps to tired paint—making everyday life better for people with mental health needs
  • Pick up materials from local suppliers when needed, so you’re not waiting around for deliveries
  • Speak directly with tenants and staff to plan work clearly and keep things running smoothly
  • Keep simple records of the work you do—no paperwork overload
  • Manage your own schedule day-to-day, with the support of your manager when needed
  • Join occasional training sessions that build your skills and keep things safe
  • Be flexible to help with other practical tasks where needed

  • You’ll work locally—cutting down on commute stress and freeing up your evenings
  • Real variety in your work—no two days feel the same
  • All work-related travel reimbursed when using your own vehicle
  • You’ll get training to help you do your job well and grow your confidence
  • We cover the cost of your enhanced DBS check
The Person

You’re practical, organised, and take pride in doing things properly. You like working independently and knowing that what you do makes a difference. You’ll need:

  • To be happy managing your time and working without micro-management
