Job summary

Calor Gas Ltd in Grangemouth is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our site running smoothly. You will perform planned maintenance, diagnose equipment faults, read technical drawings, fabricate and modify plant components, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Working days 7:00-16:00 with occasional overtime and travel to Inverness. A City & Guilds engineering qualification, driving licence, and right to work in the UK are required; NEBOSH/IOSH or COMPEX is desirable.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in a production environment.
• City & Guilds engineering qualification.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Driving licence with willingness to travel to Inverness.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment breakdowns swiftly and effectively.
• Perform planned maintenance tasks to optimise equipment performance.
• Install and modify mechanical equipment in line with Calor specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proactively report hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork promptly.
• Be flexible in supporting shift coverage and responding to urgent maintenance needs.

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our Grangemouth site. You will focus on both routine preventative maintenance and responding to equipment breakdowns, keeping our machinery running efficiently. Your skills will be critical in maintaining, fabricating, fitting and modifying plant equipment while ensuring safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment breakdowns swiftly and effectively.
• Perform planned maintenance tasks to optimise equipment performance.
• Install and modify mechanical equipment in line with Calor specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proactively report hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork promptly.
• Be flexible in supporting shift coverage and responding to urgent maintenance needs.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a production maintenance environment.
• A recognised City & Guilds certification in an engineering discipline.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with precision.
• Experience with operating lathes, mills, and drills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing maintenance needs.
• A thorough understanding of engineering standards and mechanical repairs.
• Must have the right to work and reside in the UK.
• Must hold valid Driving licence and be willing to travel occasionally to our Inverness site.

Desirable Qualifications

• NEBOSH/IOSH Safety qualification.
• COMPEX Qualification.
