Job summary

Tesco Stores Limited in Dunfermline is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our stores safe, functional and welcoming. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment as part of a skilled team, prioritising safety and quality.

This hands-on role requires proactivity, strong problem-solving and collaboration, with digital tools used to view daily schedules and manage communications.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance or engineering experience in a store, facility, or similar environment.
• Ability to interact with external contractors and internal teams to coordinate repairs and maintenance.
• Strong health and safety awareness and commitment to compliance.
• Comfortable using tablets/devices to view schedules and manage emails.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring Tesco sites are safe and functioning for customers and colleagues.
• Following the planned work schedule to achieve first-time fixes and improve efficiency.

As a Maintenance Technician at Tesco covering Dunfermline you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You’ll use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality.

As a Maintenance Technician your specific responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks. To thrive in this role, you will need to:

Responsibilities will include;

• Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
• Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
• General day to day store and property maintenance.
• Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
• Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values (serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day), maintaining a positive attitude & taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
• Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
• Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.

As a vital part of our Maintenance team, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for maintaining high standards. With previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment, you will be digitally confident using a tablet to view daily work schedules and manage emails.
