  • Interact with external contractors: coordinate repairs seamlessly.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure quality service.
  • Sustain high energy levels while juggling tasks.
  • Assist the Management Team in maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Minimize customer disruption during repairs and maintenance.
  • Follow the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix and improve efficiency.
  • General day-to-day store and property maintenance.
  • Use mobile devices to drive updates and daily work completion.
  • Represent Tesco brand by upholding core values and pride in Tesco uniform.
  • Attend local and national meetings and provide input and feedback.

Job description

As a Maintenance Technician at Tesco across Leeds, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You’ll use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality.

This is a hands‑on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. As a Maintenance Technician your specific responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks. To thrive in this role, you will need to:

Responsibilities will include;

  • Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
  • General day to day store and property maintenance.
  • Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
  • Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values (serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day), maintaining a positive attitude & taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
  • Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
  • Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.

As a vital part of our Maintenance team, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for maintaining high standards. With previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment, you will be digitally confident using a tablet to view daily work schedules and manage emails.
