Job summary

Tesco UK is seeking an Electrical Service Maintenance Technician to keep stores safe, functional and welcoming for customers and colleagues. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment.

This hands-on role requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. You’ll receive ongoing training and opportunities to grow your career within Tesco.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or improv er programme or trade proficiency test / relevant trade experience.
• Basic diagnostics: PCB/Microprocessor / HMI controlled systems /equipment.
• Electrical Safety Circuit, - Basic Working Knowledge, fault finding and replacement.
• EICR Remedial Knowledge

Responsibilities

• Ensuring Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
• Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
• Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
• General day to day store and property maintenance.
• Using mobile devices (phone/tablet) to drive updates and track progress.
• Representing the Tesco brand by upholding our values and wearing the Tesco uniform.
• Attending local and national meetings and providing input and feedback.
• Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.

As a Electrical Service Maintenance Technician at Tesco, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You’ll use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality.

As a Service Maintenance Technician your specific responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks. To thrive in this role, you will need to:

• Confidently Interact with External Contractors: Coordinating repairs seamlessly.

• Assist the Management Team: Keeping our stores operating smoothly by maintaining equipment and facilities.
• Minimize Customer Disruption: Coordinating repairs with minimal impact on our valued customers.

As a vital part of our Maintenance team, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for maintaining high standards. With previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment, you will be digitally confident using a tablet to view daily work schedules and manage emails.

Operational Skills:

• Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or improver programme or trade proficiency test / relevant trade experience
• Basic diagnostics: PCB/Microprocessor / HMI controlled systems /equipment
• Electrical Safety Circuit, - Basic Working Knowledge, fault finding and replacement.
• EICR Remedial Knowledge
• Full driving license
• Health & Safety awareness
• Communication & stakeholder management
• Office 365 knowledge

Required Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 – Electrical (Or Equivalent)
• Apprenticeship/Improver programme
• EICR Remedial works experience
