Job summary

The Old Vicarage Dewsbury is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the on-site team as a permanent, full-time role. You will support day-to-day maintenance, carry out routine checks and help ensure Priory standards are met across the site.

Requirements include experience in building maintenance, plumbing, mechanical or electrical work, with the ability to work shifts. Salary is £13.45 per hour for 30 hours per week, at The Old Vicarage, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts as the service requires.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and decorating to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
• Complete routine maintenance and compliance checks, including fire alarms, bed inspections and vehicle checks.
• Identify and report faults, damage and safety concerns, taking action as agreed with the Maintenance Manager.
• Conduct internal and external security patrols to protect the building, occupants and grounds.
• Follow health and safety procedures and ensure work is within your capabilities.

Per-time - 30 hours per week

The Old Vicarage Dewsbury is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the team.

The Old Vicarage, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire is a residential service supporting 14 adults with a range of needs. It is located in a town setting and is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes and Dewsbury railway station nearby. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

What you'll be doing

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will help maintain a safe, comfortable and well-presented environment for colleagues, service users and visitors. Working alongside the Maintenance Manager, you will support day-to-day maintenance, complete routine checks and ensure the site meets Priory standards.

You will also, but not limited to:

• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and decorating to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
• Complete routine maintenance and compliance checks, including fire alarms, bed inspections and vehicle checks.
• Identify and report faults, damage and potential safety concerns, taking action as agreed with the Maintenance Manager.
• Conduct internal and external security patrols, helping to protect the building, its occupants and grounds.
• Follow health and safety procedures, ensuring all work is within your capabilities and any specialist tasks are only completed with the appropriate certification.
