AmegA Sciences is looking for a Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing and site operations across AmegA Sciences and Lawford Heath. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will play a key part in maintaining our production equipment, facilities, and infrastructure while helping drive continuous improvement projects across the site.
Working as part of a supportive maintenance team, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical skills, contribute ideas, and take ownership of meaningful projects that improve safety, performance, and reliability.
What You'll Be Doing
Keep Equipment Running Reliably
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities across production and site assets.
- Identify and resolve equipment issues before they impact operations.
- Support fault finding and breakdown response activities to minimise downtime.
- Assist with maintaining automated filling lines, mixing tanks, motors, pumps, pipework, and associated equipment.
Deliver Site and Facilities Maintenance
- Perform general site maintenance and repairs to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
- Carry out mechanical maintenance activities including:
- Pneumatics and compressed air systems
- Belts, pulleys and gear systems
- Motor replacement and alignment
- Pipe fitting and plumbing repairs
- Fabrication and general site improvements
- Basic electrical maintenance
Lead Improvements
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Support maintenance, facilities, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrade activities.
- Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, safety, and business performance.
Work with Contractors and Suppliers
- Coordinate and oversee contractors working on site.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required standards.
- Support the sourcing of parts, equipment, and maintenance services.
- Champion safe working practices across the site.
- Support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Actively contribute to health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection documentation.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone practical, proactive, and solution-focused who enjoys taking ownership and making things better.
- A recognised maintenance qualification or completed apprenticeship.
- Experience within manufacturing, production, process, industrial, or facilities environments.
- Strong mechanical maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, motors, conveyors, belts, gear systems, and pipework.
- Basic electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Experience supervising contractors.
- Fabrication or welding experience.
