Coventry University Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to deliver high-quality maintenance and facilities services across its estate. This hands-on, multi-skilled role covers reactive repairs, planned maintenance, minor projects, and space configurations.

You will work across diverse buildings, support moves and events, and ensure safety compliance. A full driving licence and willingness to travel between Coventry locations are required, with familiarity with CAFM systems valued.

Responsabilités

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide a high-quality maintenance and facilities service across Coventry University Group's estate. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role where you will carry out reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and minor project works, ensuring our buildings remain safe, compliant, functional, and well-presented at all times.

Working across a diverse property portfolio that includes academic buildings, halls of residence, student accommodation, and associated facilities, you will undertake a wide range of building fabric repairs, maintenance activities, room adaptations, and refurbishment works. You will also support internal moves, furniture installations, event setups, and space reconfigurations, helping to ensure our facilities continue to meet the needs of staff, students, and visitors.

You will work closely with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver a professional and customer-focused service, ensuring all activities comply with health and safety legislation, statutory requirements, and University procedures. Using the University's CAFM system, you will maintain accurate maintenance records, report defects, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the performance and sustainability of our buildings and services.

Our Successful Candidate

We are looking for an experienced maintenance professional with a strong background in building maintenance, facilities services, or a multi-trade environment. This role would suit a Maintenance Technician, Facilities Technician, Building Maintenance Operative, Multi-Skilled Technician, Caretaker, or someone with similar experience looking to develop their career within a large and diverse estate.

You will have practical experience carrying out a range of maintenance activities, particularly within plumbing, carpentry, building fabric repairs, and general maintenance tasks. Experience working with door furniture, locks, and minor building adaptations would be highly beneficial, along with a sound understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.

The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver with excellent customer service and communication skills. You will be comfortable working independently or as part of a team, capable of managing competing priorities, and confident liaising with staff, students, contractors, and other stakeholders. Experience using handheld devices, CAFM systems, or mobile work management systems would be advantageous.

As this is a physically active role, you must be comfortable undertaking manual handling activities, working at height using ladders or access equipment, and occasionally working in confined spaces. A full driving licence is required, together with a willingness to travel to other Coventry University Group locations, including London, Dagenham, Milton Keynes, and Scarborough, when operationally required. Occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
