Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Maintenance Technician at Seafield WwTW, Edinburgh. The role focuses on delivering mechanical tasks to support safe and efficient wastewater operations.

You will complete planned and reactive maintenance, report to the Maintenance Supervisor, and work with the operations teams across sites in Scotland. Salary up to £49k plus a company van and Veolia benefits, 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship.
• Recognised qualifications in Mechanical engineering and is ideally dual skilled across the secondary skill or prepared to work towards achieving dual skilling.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical tasks on a planned and reactive basis in support of safe and efficient wastewater operation.
• Complete planned preventative, planned corrective and reactive maintenance tasks across AVSE project with accurate work orders and documentation.
• Report to the Maintenance Supervisor on all mechanical/electrical maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams to facilitate capital work interventions.
• Participate in team work activities and provide technical assistance to site teams.
• Assist process/operation teams in trouble-shooting and asset-related issues.
• Maintain highest levels of onsite Health and Safety.
• Record data in CMMS and provide asset information.
• Work with Seafield, Almond Valley and Esk sites across the Scotland PFI contract.
• Manage on-site activities using Permit to Work systems.

What you'll be doing:

As a Maintenance Technician it will be your role to deliver mechanical tasks on a planned and reactive basis in support of the safe and efficient operation of our wastewater processes.

• Complete all planned preventative, planned corrective and reactive maintenance tasks across the AVSE project and the accurate and timely completion of work orders and associated documentation.
• Report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor on all aspects of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support/feedback to senior members of the maintenance and operations teams to facilitate capital work interventions.
• Participate in a proactive manner in team work activities and be responsible for providing technical assistance to all site teams.
• Assist the wider Process/Operation teams where required in trouble-shooting and problem-solving associated with asset related issues.
• Maintain the highest levels of onsite Health and Safety.
• Report accurate data into the computerised maintenance management system and provide up to date asset information.
• Working closely with operations, process and maintenance teams across the Seafield, Almond Valley and Esk waste water treatment sites that form part of the Scotland PFI contract.
• Manage on-site activities through the correct use of all relevant Permit to Work systems.

What we're looking for:

Essential:

• Completed a recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship.
• Recognised qualifications in Mechanical engineering and is ideally dual skilled across the secondary skill or prepared to work towards achieving dual skilling Knowledge and experience of working on multi discipline process site(s) with a proven track record of delivering in an engineering environment Full driving licence

Desirable:

• Experience in running and maintaining Water/Wastewater processes and assets or similar, particularly with respect to electrical and mechanical disciplines
• Practical knowledge of Google packages including experience of computerised maintenance management package(s)
• Health and Safety awareness/qualifications - preferential, but training will be provided
• Confined space awareness/qualification
• Competence in the issuing and use of all company Permit to Work systems
• Risk assessment and method statement training
