Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Birmingham maintenance team. You will maintain plant, equipment and building services across a busy commercial contract, carrying out planned and reactive tasks while managing safety documentation and risk assessments.

The role requires an apprenticeship or time-served experience, electrical and mechanical qualifications, and the ability to fault-find across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Qualifications

  • Recognised or time-served apprenticeship.
  • Strong manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds 236 Part 1–2 or equivalent (17th Edition).
  • Mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2.
  • Ability to fault-find across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors, drives and inverters.
  • PLC diagnostic or repair capabilities (advantageous).
  • Confident supervising contractors and managing safety documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across plant, equipment and building services.
  • Identifying, assessing and managing risks relating to onsite equipment, including updating drawings and identifying critical spares.
  • Supporting and improving preventative maintenance programmes and ensuring compliance.
  • Performing fault-finding across a wide range of industrial machinery, heavy plant and overhead cranes.
  • Providing electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
  • Working safely on three-phasesystems up to 440V.
  • Maintaining motors, gearboxes, valves and hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Using CAFM mobile devices torecord and complete maintenance work.
  • Liaising with Site Services andclients to resolve building-services-related issues.
  • Acting as responsible personand deputising for the Shift Leader when required.
  • Completing documentationincluding risk assessments and method statements.
  • Supporting ad-hoc duties andovertime when business needs arise.
