Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in London is looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our maintenance team, supporting plant, equipment and building services across a busy commercial contract.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, identify risks, and contribute to preventative programmes while ensuring compliance. The role requires strong fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems and the ability to supervise contract personnel.

Qualifications

  • Time-served or recognised apprenticeship in engineering.
  • Electrical qualifications to City & Guilds 236 Parts 1–2 (17th Edition).
  • Mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2.
  • Ability to fault-find across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors, drives and inverters.
  • PLC diagnostic or repair capabilities advantageous.
  • Experience supervising contractors and maintaining safety documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across plant, equipment and building services.
  • Identify, assess and manage risks relating to onsite equipment, update drawings and identify critical spares.
  • Support and improve preventative maintenance programmes and ensure compliance.
  • Perform fault-finding across a wide range of industrial machinery, heavy plant and overhead cranes.
  • Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance team.
  • Work safely on three-phase systems up to 440V.
  • Maintain motors, gearboxes, valves and hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Use CAFM mobile devices to record and complete maintenance work.
  • Liaise with Site Services and clients to resolve building-services-related issues.
  • Act as responsible person and deputise for the Shift Leader when required.
  • Complete documentation including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Support ad-hoc duties and overtime when business needs arise.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For
  • Recognised or time-served apprenticeship.
  • Strong manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds 236 Parts 1–2 or equivalent (17th Edition).
  • Mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2.

  • Confident supervising contractors and managing safety documentation.
