Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Bristol is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and building services.

You will identify risks, carry out preventative maintenance, fault-find on machinery, support health and safety, and work with heavy industrial equipment and cranes, often requiring overtime.

Qualifications

• A recognised or time-served apprenticeship.
• Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance.
• Electrical qualification to City & Guilds 236 Pt 1-2 (17th edition) or equivalent.
• Mechanical qualification to City & Guilds standard.
• Good multi-skilled ability.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, drives and inverters.
• NVQ Level 2 electrical and mechanical.
• Ability to supervise contractors.
• Ability to write risk and method statements and permits.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage on-site equipment risks and update drawings.
• Liaise with client to arrange machine PMs and improve performance.
• Fault-find on all types of machinery.
• Support health and safety in the department.
• Provide electrical and mechanical expertise for heavy industrial machines and cranes.
• Write risk assessments and permits; ensure safe operation.
• Complete required documentation per rules and legislation.
• Work on three-phase systems up to 440V.
• Operate motors, gearboxes, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.
• Plan daily work using CAFM system and emails.
• Coordinate with onsite services for building issues.
• Be the responsible person and deputise shift leader during absences.
• Overtime as required, including nights/weekends.
• Perform ad-hoc duties.

Multi Skilled Engineer

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Multi Skilled Engineer to join the team located in Bristol.

The successful candidate will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance to both plant equipment and building services.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage the risks to the client through the equipment on site, including updating drawings, identifying critical spares, improving performance of machinery, and implementing the preventative maintenance program.
• Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working production environment and liaise with the client on any requests for certain machinery PPMs.
• Fault find on all types of machinery.
• Support others in the department in relation to health and safety.
• Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance department working on heavy industrial machines and overhead cranes.
• Write and follow risk assessments and be available to question any issues which arise from them safely and accurately.
• Complete the required documentation as specified with the requirements of all rules and legislation.
• Work on three‑phase systems with voltages up to 440V.
• Work on motors, gearboxes, valves encompassing hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Use mobile devices to accurately project and complete any works from the CAFM maintenance system.
• Use email and calendars to plan your daily work requirements so that all tasks are completed efficiently.
• Liaise with onsite site services to manage any building services related issues, responding confidently and accurately as required.
• Be the responsible person when required for the department and deputise the shift leader during annual leave or sickness.
• Work overtime as and when the business requires, this may include nights and weekends to which notice may not always be given.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as and when required.

Experience Required

• A recognised or time‑served apprenticeship.
• Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance.
• Electrical competence/qualification to a minimum or equivalent to City & Guilds 236 Pt 1-2 electrical qualifications to the 17th edition.
• Mechanical competence/qualification to an acceptable standard to City & Guilds mechanical qualification.
• Good multi‑skilled ability.
• Experience working on 3‑phase motors, drives, and inverters.
• Hydraulic/pneumatic experience.
• Ability to fault find.
• PLC diagnostics/repair competencies.
• NVQ qualifications to Level 2, electrical and mechanical.
• Ability to supervise contractors.
• Able to write risk and method statements.
• Able to understand and write permits.

Desirable

• Working at height qualification.
• IPAF.
• AP qualifications.
• Experience of heavy engineering.
