Job summary

Gebhart is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Recycling division in Bedford. The role focuses on providing maintenance support across welding, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics to ensure smooth plant operations.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the technician will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, complete work orders, and uphold safety and lean-practice standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial maintenance or millwright or welding within manufacturing facilities.
• Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow safety rules and policies of the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance/repair tasks at the plant.
• Conduct preventative maintenance/repair on mobile equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance/repair on furnaces, power supplies and plant equipment.
• Repair unscheduled equipment issues causing downtime.
• Complete work orders and PM paperwork.
• Maintain regular and timely attendance.
• Apply 5S lean principles in daily activities.

Position: Maintenance Technician

Status: Full Time/Hourly Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Technician will provide assistance in all aspects of maintenance such as welding, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics.

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

SUPERVISES: N/A

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintenance/Repair tasks at the plant.
• Preventative maintenance/repair tasks on mobile equipment.
• Preventive maintenance/repair tasks on furnaces, power supplies and plant operational equipment and processes.
• Repairs of unscheduled equipment issues causing downtime
• Completing work orders & PM paperwork
• Regular and timely attendance are an expectation of the position
• Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

• Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
• Industrial maintenance or millwright or welding experience within other manufacturing facilities

Competencies

• Follow all safety rules, regulations and policies of the company.
• Self-starter, dependable and work well with other team members.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs.
• Physical Requirements: Exerting up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Visual Acuity: ability to operate machinery and determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned including to make general observations of facilities.
