Job description

Job Title: Technician

Contract Personnal is excited to collaborate with an industry-leading packaging manufacturer in Beccles, Suffolk, seeking multiple Technicians for permanent positions.

Ideal Candidate: Coming from a similar background, comfortable with the following responsibilities:

1. Perform tool changes and setup for plastics moulding machinery (Extrusion Blow Moulding or Injection Moulding).
2. Diagnose machinery faults, including mechanical issues, setup problems, ancillary equipment, and production quality concerns.
3. Raise maintenance work orders detailing machine faults for the maintenance department.
4. Complete quality control checks on machines or as directed by your supervisor every 2 hours.
5. Accurately document all production checks and related paperwork.
6. Conduct Post-Production Quality Checks following Blowmould Work Instruction 10.
7. Carry out tool and colour changes according to training procedures set by management or relevant work instructions.
8. Ensure machines operate correctly and safely in accordance with the Blowmould programme.
9. Fill out check/log sheets and pallet labels clearly and accurately with all relevant information.
10. Perform line clearances at each changeover following company procedures.
11. Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy work area during and after shifts.
12. Comply with all current legislation and company procedures, especially regarding Health and Safety, Quality, and Environment Management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in a technical role within an engineering environment, such as Motor Mechanic, Vehicle Technician, Machinist, or Service Engineer.
• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Engineering, Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent.
• Logical and methodical problem-solving skills.
• Proactive in challenging existing practices and seeking continuous improvement.
• Decisive in addressing opportunities and problems during daily work.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and adapt to changing demands.
• Conscientious, professional, and thorough in work responsibilities.
• Previous experience in manufacturing or packaging environments.
• Technical experience with blow moulding or injection moulding, including machine and tooling setup.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Shifts operate on a weekly rotation: 6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, and 10pm–6am.
