Job summary

Alstom is seeking a Maintenance Team Member to support depot operations in Wembley. You will perform day-to-day tasks including fault finding, preventive maintenance, and mentoring others, contributing to safe, reliable rail services.

You will work with maintenance, operations, and logistics teams, handling tasks such as driving fleet vehicles, sanding, refuelling, and system top-ups as part of a rotating shifts schedule. A strong team mindset and willingness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of maintenance tasks, including preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems, plumbing, and coach repairing.
• Familiarity with depot operations, such as fuelling, sanding, and system top-ups.

Responsibilities

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our operations. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (maintenance, operations, and logistics), perform tasks such as FLT driving, sanding, fuelling, system top-ups, and general depot duties, and take on responsibilities such as fault finding, preventative maintenance, and mentoring others, and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

• General depot duties, e.g., Line of Routes.
• Chlorinating water points.
• Primary fault finding/reporting.

Basic maintenance competency, e.g.:-

• Gritting of walkways in severe weather conditions and/or exceptional circumstances.
• Driving company vehicles if certified.
• Taking of fuel meter readings off rail vehicles.
• Train cleaning by exception.
