Job Description

Are you an experienced Maintenance Surveyor seeking your next permanent role? My client has an immediate opportunity for a surveyor to join their front-line team, primarily based around the Swindon area. The successful candidate will have experience conducting pre- and post-inspections of occupied and void domestic properties, identifying maintenance needs.

Responsibilities:

• Operational responsibility for delivering all responsive, void, planned, capital investment, and service chargeable maintenance activities within a designated area.
• Create and maintain relationships with key supply chain partners to deliver planned investment programs, major repair projects, and responsive maintenance, ensuring a seamless service.
• Perform contractual and commercial duties as Contract Administrator on assigned projects/contracts.
• Ensure all projects are undertaken safely and in compliance with CDM regulations.
• Liaise with design consultants, managing agents, local authorities, and other construction professionals; lead on NHBC, insurance, and third-party claims.
• Investigate and resolve construction and building defects to maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Produce specifications and schedules of works; carry out localized procurement for suitable projects.
• Handle service failure incidents, including compensation, liability claims, complaints, and legal matters within target response times.

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating long-term partnering contracts.
• Experience delivering large-scale capital investment programs on time and within budget across wide geographical areas.
• Experience providing responsive, void, and service-charge maintenance services.
• Full understanding of CDM compliance.
• Good knowledge of 'Decent Homes' standards.
• Knowledge of building components, defect diagnosis, building law, and regulations.
• Educated to at least HNC level or equivalent in construction, housing, management, or property.
• Full UK driving license and access to a car, with the ability to drive as required.
