Job summary

Mears Group PLC in Croydon is seeking a Building Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team delivering void and disrepair maintenance across occupied and vacant properties. The role combines office leadership with fieldwork to ensure safety, compliance, and residents' satisfaction.

You will supervise day-to-day works, manage resources, and coordinate with clients and subcontractors. The package includes a company van or car, plus a comprehensive benefits scheme and a 42.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of Health & Safety compliance and reporting.
• Experience and knowledge in two or more trades.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• COSHH knowledge and adherence to regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day delivery of Void and Disrepair works across vacant and occupied properties.
• Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
• Monitor progress with site visits and resolve issues to satisfy residents.
• Allocate resources and operatives to meet service targets and contracts.
• Lead subcontractors, provide coaching and performance management.
• Oversee materials, procurement and cost control to maintain efficiency.
• Coordinate with residents, client reps, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support mobilisation, audits and service improvement initiatives.
