Job summary

Wren requires a Maintenance Supervisor in Howden to lead the afternoon shift, Monday to Friday, 10:00-18:30, with a possible transition to 14:30-23:00. You will work with the Engineering Manager to plan workload, allocate tasks and keep disruption to operations to a minimum while maintaining high safety standards.

The successful candidate will hold NQV Level 3 Electrical or equivalent, with PLC understanding and experience in engineering management within a woodworking environment.

Qualifications

• NQV Level 3 Electrical or equivalent is required.
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering is desirable.
• Experience in engineering management in woodworking industry is preferred.
• Understanding of PLC systems is important.
• Experience planning PPM and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Plan workload and allocate tasks with the Engineering Manager.
• Coordinate repairs and planned works with minimal disruption.
• Liaise with suppliers for materials for repairs and regeneration.
• Ensure repairs and projects meet high standards and regulations.
• Liaise between Engineering Manager and maintenance team.
• Monitor performance and raise concerns to management.

Job description

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our expanding team based in Howden. The successful candidate will work the afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday, 10:00-18:30 with the potential to transition to 14:30-23:00.

The salary for the position is £46,500 plus up to £1,000 Quarterly Bonus + £1250 Shift Allowance.

Main Responsibilities

• Work with site Engineering Manager to effectively plan workload and job allocation, ensuring tasks are completed in order of priority.
• Work with departmental managers to ensure repair or planned work to machinery is carried out with minimal disruption to operations.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure the sufficient and relevant materials required for repairs and regeneration projects are purchased.
• Ensure that repairs and building projects are completed to a high standard, in line with all relevant regulations.
• Act as a key liaison between Engineering Manager and Maintenance team, ensuring any information and business changes are shared throughout the team.
• Monitor performance and output and highlight any areas of concern to management.

In addition to any other duties, as a responsible person you must ensure that you have read, understood and adhere to polices and procedure relating to Health and Safety, and your responsibilities located in the Integrated Management System (IMS) Responsibilities document.

About You

Desired Skills and Knowledge

• NQV Level 3 Electrical or equivalent (required)
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (desirable)
• Proven track record of delivering results
• 18th Edition with valid IEE regulations are desirable
• Self-motivated with strong prioritisation skills
• Relevant experience in Engineering management, ideally in the woodworking industry
• Understanding of PLC systems
• Experience of planning PPM's and responding to reactive maintenance
• Excellent communication skills
