The Mechanical Supervisor is a key role within the Maintenance team, supporting the safe operation of assets, plant productivity, and reliability. As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
- Report directly to the Maintenance Manager and oversee Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Mechanical Shift Maintenance Technicians.
- Oversee all mechanical maintenance tasks, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency.
- Drive and maintain site safety standards, ensuring adherence to industry regulations, enabling operations as a top-tier COMAH Site.
- Collaborate with operations to meet quality requirements related to ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, and cGMP, including cross-contamination prevention.
- Take full responsibility for Mechanical Maintenance activities, delivering tasks safely and promptly.
- Work closely with the Planning & Scheduling team and Site Engineers to enhance plant reliability for all production assets.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Accountabilities
- Maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental standards during all work activities.
- Manage all Mechanical work, including breakdowns, preventive maintenance, compliance, regulatory tasks, and defect management, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation in the CMMS.
- Supervise the Mechanical Maintenance team, including work allocation, reviewing work packs, and ensuring RAMS are adequate.
- Coordinate work progress updates and communicate schedules to relevant parties.
- Handle priority work from defect identification to completion, including raising PRs, organizing resources, and creating RAMS.
- Manage timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary matters, and deputize for the Maintenance Manager as needed.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to develop job packs, RAMS, and schedules to improve plant reliability.
- Contribute to root cause analyses and follow-up actions to enhance equipment performance.
- Provide first-line problem solving for mechanical faults and work delivery issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, ensuring PMs are executed according to equipment requirements.
SHEQ
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety standards during maintenance tasks.
- Promote a positive safety culture within the team.
- Ensure work is performed safely, following company guidelines and OEM recommendations.
- Report accidents, near misses, and suggest improvements or best practices.
Equipment Management
- Ensure timely completion of PMs, compliance, and regulatory work orders.
- Supervise Mechanical Technicians, prioritizing work according to site needs.
- Support projects and changeovers as required.
- Coordinate with OEM contractors for inspections and plan future maintenance activities.
