You will work on heating, plumbing and ventilation systems, performing planned maintenance and reactive work in a hospital environment.

We are looking for a Skilled Tradesperson with a background in heating and/or plumbing to join the Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services Ltd estates team to work within our mechanical team in the estates workshop. The workshop provides a maintenance service to Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and external clients. You will need to demonstrate strong team working skills; have good experience of working in a maintenance role and be comfortable in working to targets and working on your own.
The post-holder will be required to work on the tradesperson on-call rota for which additional payments will be made on top of the stated salary.
The post-holder will be required to support the building and electrical workshops as required and within the capabilities of their skills.

Completing all plumbing, heating and ventilation Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive work in accordance with industry best practise and statutory requirements.
Willing to undertake training as required to be appointed as a boiler house operator.
Willing to undertake training as required to carry out work on the hospital’s hydrotherapy pool.
Able to undertake cross discipline work that typically falls under building and electrical trades such as safe isolation from a rotary isolator, boarding up of a broken window when on-call, careful replacement of faulty locks etc.
Ensuring that all work is carried out in a manner that complies with all Health and Safety legislation, HTMs and other relevant codes of practise and policies.
To have awareness of relevant standards affecting installation work and to recognise where knowledge may be insufficient, and advice needs to be sought.
Effectively supervising more junior staff whilst working on jobs.
Delivering good customer service and able to always act as an ambassador for DSFS.
Contributing to the estates on-call rota as required.
Ensuring that the estates department delivers to its customers a service that is responsive, reliable and meets statutory and mandatory requirements. Our key customers include Chesterfield Royal Hospital and offsite locations such as GP surgeries, community clinics etc.
