Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance & Services Manager for a busy manufacturing environment in Sandy, UK. The role is hands-on, focusing on maintaining production machinery, improving plant reliability and uptime, and leading a small engineering team.

You will manage planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, and fault-find PLC-controlled systems (Siemens and Allen-Bradley).

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification required (HNC/HND, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience in maintenance of production machinery in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and three-phase systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults.
• Fault find on PLC-controlled systems (Siemens and Allen-Bradley).
• Work with motor control circuits, VSDs, contactors, sensors and three‑phase systems.
• Maintain and repair gearboxes, belts, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, follow technical manuals.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
• Identify and implement engineering improvements and machinery modifications.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams and management.
• Ensure safe working practices, including isolation and Lockout/Tagout.
