Job summary

The Hire Place LLP is recruiting a Maintenance Manager for an established manufacturing business in the Thrapston area, offering the chance to take a strategic lead in developing the maintenance function, reducing unplanned downtime and driving continuous improvement across the site.

This role looks beyond day-to-day breakdowns to build a proactive, data-driven approach to maintenance, setting the strategy and standards to improve equipment reliability and team capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance and preventative maintenance systems.
• Experience reducing breakdowns and improving equipment reliability.
• Understanding of root cause analysis, reliability improvement and engineering compliance.
• Ability to lead, develop and engage an engineering team.
• Practical, commercially aware approach, turning performance data into action.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Reduce unplanned downtime through reliability engineering and root cause analysis.
• Review maintenance performance data and deliver measurable improvements.
• Ensure engineering-related statutory compliance and safe working practices.
• Develop a skills matrix, identify competency gaps and implement training plans.
• Improve maintenance planning, team accountability and collaboration with Production.
