Job summary

Exotec is hiring a Maintenance Reliability Engineer in the United Kingdom to drive system reliability and performance. The role involves supporting field maintenance teams, leading RCA, and improving maintenance strategies to optimise client operations.

Candidates should have an engineering degree with 5+ years in technical customer support for software/hardware, plus strong autonomy and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in IT, robotics or industrial automation.
• Minimum 5 years in technical customer support for applications, software and/or hardware.
• Strong comfort in software‑oriented environments and ability to analyse/resolve complex issues.
• Broad foundational knowledge in electronics, mechanics and automation.
• High level of autonomy, rigorous approach and excellent interpersonal/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive system reliability and performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide advanced technical support to field maintenance teams on complex issues.
• Analyse performance data to identify trends, risks and optimisation opportunities.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Collaborate with customers to optimise system performance within their operations.
• Define and improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Support system deployment, commissioning and performance validation.
• Act as a technical interface with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues and drive improvements.
• Contribute to best practices, technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Support critical incidents with structured diagnostics and escalation.

Requirements
