Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is seeking an experienced plumber for HM Prison Cardiff on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The role covers reactive repairs and planned maintenance within a secure prison environment, with a full-time schedule Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

The ideal candidate will have City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing, and hold a valid CSCS/JIB Card. Local residence or transport is required due to site access.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.
• Valid CSCS/JIB Card is essential.
• Security-conscious with the ability to handle risks in a prison environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical heating/ventilation plant and boiler room.
• Repair and maintain showers, wash basins, toilets.
• Clear blocked toilets, sink waste and drains.
• Quarterly shower head cleaning.
• Maintain water feature and spares inventory.
• Pipe replacements and general maintenance tasks as directed.
• Undertake planned maintenance on the estates and wings/corridors.
