Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in Gateshead is seeking a Maintenance Plumber to join our team. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, testing and fault finding on plumbing and mechanical systems across the facility.

The role includes supporting general building maintenance, assisting contractors, and ensuring all work complies with health and safety standards. NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and practical maintenance experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, installations, and fault-finding on water systems.
• Install water systems, pipework and fixtures per drawings and standards.
• Maintain waste and vent pipe systems using drain rods and jet washers.
• Support contractors and on-site teams with plumbing expertise.
• Perform plumbing safety inspections and PPM tasks, including backflow devices.
• Assist in maintaining safe, compliant building operations.
• Provide basic plumbing training to maintenance colleagues.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and breakdowns promptly.
• Follow health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Undertake other duties as directed.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by management.

Maintenance Plumber

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Plumber to join our team based in Gateshead.

Job Purpose

The Maintenance Plumber will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, testing, installation and fault finding on plumbing and mechanical systems throughout the facility.

The role also includes supporting general building maintenance activities and ensuring all systems and equipment operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, installations, replacements, testing and fault-finding on water supply and distribution systems, including valves, fixtures and outlets.
• Install water systems, pipework and fixtures in line with drawings, specifications, regulations and industry standards.
• Maintain waste and vent pipe systems using appropriate equipment such as drain rods, plungers and jet washers.
• Support contractors and on-site teams with plumbing expertise during projects and equipment installations.
• Complete plumbing safety inspections and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks, including backflow devices where certified.
• Assist in maintaining safe and compliant building operations.
• Provide guidance and basic plumbing training to maintenance colleagues where required.
• Carry out general building maintenance duties as directed.
• Respond promptly to emergency call-outs and breakdown situations.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by management.
