We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Plant Technician at our Basildon site in Essex. The role involves working a 6-2/2-10 shift pattern, including routine Saturday cover aligned with rest days.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Perform Health & Safety checks on plant, buildings, and services to ensure compliance with regulations.
2. Respond promptly to plant breakdowns, collaborating with the Engineering manager to prioritize tasks and determine assistance needs.
3. Conduct planned and preventative maintenance as per the maintenance system and documentation.
4. Operate the CMMS and stock systems, managing work orders and inventory.

Requirements:

• Apprenticeship or vocational experience in a relevant trade.
• Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Problem-solving skills for plant breakdowns.
• Understanding of plant safety principles and ability to identify unsafe areas.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.
• Ability to read technical documentation.

Preferred but not essential:

• Academic qualifications like NVQ, BTEC, or C&G in relevant trades.
