The role

As a Maintenance Planning Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the UK’s newest class of submarines - the Dreadnought Class - are always ready and available. You’ll work in a high-tempo, technically challenging environment, supporting the Submarine Lead in developing and maintaining through-life maintenance plans. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to national defence, optimise engineering performance, and grow your career in a dynamic and forward-thinking team.

Day-to-day, you’ll Support submarine programme planning and asset management, collaborate with key stakeholders, and contribute to the development of through-life maintenance solutions.

  • Supporting submarine programme changes and scenario planning to ensure safe, capable and available submarines
  • Using a bespoke asset management tool to manage maintenance requirements through life
  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts across Babcock, the Royal Navy, MOD and industry partners
  • Contributing to the development of the new through-life boat plan application

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Maintenance Planning Engineer
  • Demonstrable experience or understanding of maintenance requirements and planning

Qualifications for the Maintenance Planning Engineer
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or HNC/HND with demonstrable experience

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
