Job summary

Arden White Aviation & Aerospace Recruitment are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Planner to join a world-leading helicopter manufacturer at its RAF Shawbury, Shropshire operation. The role supports the UK's Military Flying Training System, providing helicopters and maintenance services to No.1 Flying Training School.

You will plan scheduled maintenance, produce work packs, and coordinate with CAMO, Airworthiness, and other teams to minimise downtime and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of aircraft maintenance planning and materials requirements within Part-CAMO and Part-145 environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to agreed deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Good IT and computer literacy skills.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving planning issues.
  • Experience with a maintenance or continuing airworthiness management system advantageous.
  • Experience with Airbus Helicopters and associated technical documentation desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan scheduled maintenance requirements for allocated aircraft in accordance with approved maintenance programmes.
  • Produce and review line and base maintenance work packs.
  • Monitor aircraft utilisation and maintenance status and identify upcoming maintenance requirements.
  • Establish provisional maintenance dates based on projected aircraft utilisation.
  • Review material requirements and raise reservations and purchase requisitions as required.
  • Liaise with Maintenance and Customer Support teams to confirm maintenance dates.
  • Coordinate with Airworthiness regarding ADs, SBs, EOs and other airworthiness requirements.
  • Review maintenance inputs and work packs to minimise aircraft downtime.
  • Ensure planned maintenance has been completed prior to aircraft departure from base maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records and update the relevant maintenance information systems.
  • Produce short-term maintenance forecasts for allocated aircraft.
  • Support the wider CAMO team and contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance planning processes.

Education

GCSEs / equivalent such as NVQ or BTEC

The Opportunity

Arden White Aviation & Aerospace Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join a world-leading helicopter manufacturer at its RAF Shawbury, Shropshire operation.

The site supports the UK's Military Flying Training System (MFTS), providing helicopters and maintenance support to the UK's No.1 Flying Training School.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated military aviation environment, supporting the planning and delivery of helicopter maintenance across a complex operational fleet.

The Role

As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for managing maintenance and materials planning requirements and producing and reviewing line and base maintenance work packs.

Working closely with Maintenance, CAMO, Airworthiness, Customer Support and Materials teams, you will ensure maintenance is effectively planned, required materials and documentation are available, and aircraft downtime is minimised.

About You

We are looking for candidates with experience in aircraft maintenance planning, CAMO, continuing airworthiness or an MRO environment.

You should have:

  • A good understanding of aircraft maintenance planning and materials requirements within Part-CAMO and Part-145 environments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to agreed deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Good IT and computer literacy skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential planning issues.
  • Experience using a maintenance or continuing airworthiness management system would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience with Airbus Helicopters and associated technical documentation would be desirable.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications such as NVQ or BTEC.
  • Aviation-related qualifications or degree desirable.
  • Part-CAMO and/or Part-145 training desirable.
  • Aviation Human Factors training desirable.
Additional Requirements

Candidates must have the current and legal right to work in the UK.

Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants will be required to obtain DBS Security Clearance and be eligible for SC Clearance.

Applicants must also meet applicable Export Compliance requirements.
