Job summary

Hill Care is seeking a Maintenance Person to join our team. You will carry out day-to-day maintenance of the building, services and grounds to keep the care home safe and well-presented.

The role requires practical DIY skills, ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and a commitment to supporting residents with respect for their wishes.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills with clients, colleagues and managers.
• Decorating skills.
• Basic DIY skills.
• Experience of driving.
• Proven ability to complete day-to-day repairs and maintenance to a safe & high standard.
• Satisfactory Police Check and DBS check (where applicable).
• Self-motivation and flexibility.
• Commitment to the aims and objectives of Hill Care Ltd.
• Flexible and innovative approach to working.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Experience of working in a care/support setting; ideally within older peoples services.

About the role

JOB PURPOSE

To carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the Care Home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

* Proven ability to work on own initiative and work as part of a team

• * A commitment to a service, which provides support to vulnerable individuals, and which is respectful and according to the individual’s wishes

  * Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively with Clients, colleagues, Managers and other persons with a legitimate interest in the service

  * Decorating skills

  * Basic DIY skills

  * Experience of driving

  * Proven ability to complete day to day repairs and maintenance to a safe & high standard

• * Satisfactory Police Check and check against the DBS List (where applicable)

  * Self-motivation and flexibility
