Job summary

Roseberry Care Centres is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Operative to keep our 38-hour week sites running smoothly and safely across our care homes in the North East. You will perform routine repairs, basic plumbing/electrical tasks, and support external contractors to maintain high standards of safety and comfort for residents.

We value practical experience, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to keeping environments safe and well maintained for older and vulnerable people.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (desirable but not required).
• Proven experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence (if travel between sites is required).

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering).
• Respond promptly to reported faults or emergency maintenance requests.
• Perform general handyman duties, including assembling furniture, moving equipment, and minor groundskeeping.
• Support external contractors when on site.
• Keep maintenance records and reports up to date.

Your Role:
