Job summary

Roseberry Care is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Operative to join Primrose Lodge in North Shields. You’ll perform general repairs, routine maintenance, and ensure the home complies with health and safety regulations so daily life runs smoothly for residents.

We value practical skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work with contractors. A full UK driving licence is preferred if travel between sites is required.

Your Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for general repairs, routine maintenance, and ensuring the home is compliant with health and safety regulations. Your role is essential in ensuring the home runs smoothly and safely on a day-to-day basis.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering).
• Respond promptly to reported faults or emergency maintenance requests.
• Perform general handyman duties, including assembling furniture, moving equipment, and minor groundskeeping.
• Support external contractors when on site.
• Keep maintenance records and reports up to date.

What We’re Looking For
