Job summary

NHS Property Services in Swindon is seeking a Maintenance Operative (Plumbing) to deliver reactive and planned plumbing maintenance across a healthcare estate. You will work 37.5 hours per week, 08:00–16:00, with travel across Wiltshire and Bath; a full driving licence and standard DBS are required; on-call rota and van/tools provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial maintenance.
• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and in healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a full plumbing maintenance service across NHS Property Services premises.
• Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive plumbing repairs.
• Support general fabric maintenance tasks and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Participate in the on‑call rota and collaborate with the Estates & Facilities team.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Operative (Plumbing) to join our team, based from Swindon Health centre with travel across multiple sites covering Wiltshire and Bath.

• Salary starting from £30,000 per annum
• 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00
• Standard DBS is required
• Full driving licence required (mobile role)
• On call allowance + Van and tools provided.
• Permanent contract

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality reactive and planned maintenance across a healthcare estate.

Key Responsibilities

• This role will deliver a full plumbing maintenance service within NHS Property Services premises, including:
• Undertaking Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
• Responding to reactive plumbing repairs as required
• Support with general fabric maintenance tasks (e.g. minor repairs, fixtures, fittings)
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety, statutory requirements, and internal procedures
• Participate in the on-call rota
• Working collaboratively with the wider Estates & Facilities team

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.
• Experience in commercial maintenance, ideally within healthcare.
