A leading company in care services is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee facility and grounds maintenance. The role includes managing schedules, ensuring high standards, and fostering relationships with staff and suppliers. This role, although based at Headingley Hall to work with the existing Maintenance Operative, includes covering at all other services for annual leave, sickness, and supporting with special projects.
OVERALL OBJECTIVES:
To manage the internal and external maintenance of the facility and grounds at Westward Care, ensuring they are of an appropriate hotel standard and reflect the vision of a high-quality care setting for customers and visitors at all times.
To plan and agree on maintenance schedules with the General Manager to ensure minimal conflict with care provision, customer enjoyment, and emergency work.
To work independently and autonomously to manage maintenance at Westward Care while building excellent relationships with the General Manager, Administrator, colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
To carry out and record all facility maintenance checks and tests as directed by the General Manager and organization.
To proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve building and grounds standards to meet the changing needs of customers, maximizing satisfaction.
To contribute to event success and marketing activities by planning and managing events positively and practically, ensuring facilities and grounds are presented at their best.

MAIN DUTIES:
Delivering the Vision
Manage all aspects of maintenance of the facility and grounds, ensuring a high-quality care environment.
Lead by example, treating all customers and employees with dignity and respect, and fostering an environment where discrimination and harassment are challenged.
Ensure an ethos of ‘right first time and on time,’ with health and safety considerations, delivering maintenance seamlessly and discreetly with minimal disruption.

Complete all paperwork accurately and within deadlines.
Prioritize health and safety for yourself and customers, following Westward Care guidelines.
Setting Standards
Contribute to maintenance standards in agreement with the General Manager.
Establish systems to ensure consistent quality and timeliness of maintenance.
Train staff on procedures for requesting maintenance to ensure understanding and compliance.
Communication
Provide timely feedback to the General Manager on maintenance issues.
Proactively communicate significant or disruptive maintenance requirements.
Engage with all staff through team meetings to ensure effective communication about maintenance.
Maintain confidentiality where appropriate.
Encourage feedback from employees, customers, and visitors to improve maintenance services.
Customer Service
Look for opportunities to exceed customer expectations.
Proactively seek customer feedback on maintenance and suggest improvements to the General Manager.
Lead by example and address maintenance issues promptly and satisfactorily.
Foster an ethos of customer-first service.
Undertake errands and shopping as directed by the General Manager.
Treat internal and external customers with respect and understanding.
Profitability and Growth
Manage resources effectively to maintain high standards of maintenance.
Minimize waste and losses through good practices, training, and planning.
Manage stock levels to ensure availability without excess.
Review suppliers regularly to ensure value and report findings to the General Manager.
Promote Westward Care services and facilities actively.
Work flexibly to cover sickness and holidays, including unsocial hours and weekends, as the service operates 24/7.
