Job summary

GIPSIL is seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our Leeds team. You will support upkeep, repair and refurbishment across our property portfolio, helping us provide safe, high-quality homes for tenants.

This hands-on role requires proven general maintenance experience, a multi-skilled trades background, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A full UK driving licence is essential. Salary is £26,139 per annum.

• Has proven experience in general maintenance or property refurbishment.
• Possesses a multi-skilled trade background.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Is organised and able to work to deadlines and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day reactive and cyclical maintenance across GIPSIL properties.
• Refurbish empty homes to meet Design and Quality standards as directed by the Project Co-ordinator.
• Support the team in bringing leased properties up to Decent Homes standards.
• Carry out a wide range of general property maintenance tasks including: basic joinery, plastering, decorating, plumbing, wall tiling, bricklaying.
• Follow work schedules and deadlines, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
• Contribute to building and refurbishment projects in line with agreed specifications.
• Collect materials and equipment as required and oversee deliveries to site.
• Represent GIPSIL in a professional, courteous manner at all times.

About the Role

GIPSIL is looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Operative to join our team. This is a hands‑on role where you will support the upkeep, repair and refurbishment of our property portfolio, helping us provide safe, high-quality homes for our tenants.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day reactive and cyclical maintenance across GIPSIL properties
• Refurbish empty homes to meet Design and Quality standards as directed by the Project Co-ordinator
• Support the team in bringing leased properties up to Decent Homes standards
