Job summary

HC-One in Leeds is seeking a Maintenance Operative with strong hands-on skills across maintenance, building, DIY, cleaning and housekeeping. You will work to keep residents safe and comfortable, carrying out routine inspections and timely repairs while keeping accurate records and logs.

The role requires practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plus a courteous approach when interacting with residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Practical maintenance and repair experience across domestic settings.
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems is preferred.
• Basic IT skills to access records and log work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out proactive maintenance and inspections to keep residents safe and comfortable.
• Record keeping and audits to ensure logs are up to date.
• Replace taps, mixer valves, extractor fans and repair/refresh decor as required.

HC-One are looking for a Maintenance Operative with solid experience in maintenance, building, DIY, cleaning and housekeeping. You’ll also need technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as ideally some IT skills. And, whenever you communicate with a resident or co-worker, you’ll be truly considerate and kind.

As a Maintenance Operative that will mean making sure our Residents live in a place that’s proactively inspected and brilliantly maintained at all times. You’ll carry out audits and make sure records are kept up to date. And, whether you’re replacing a tap or mixer valve, fitting a new extractor fan, repairing the timber on a bedroom window or putting up new wallpaper in the dining room, you’ll do so with a sense of kindness above anything else.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and therefore it is important that you are able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
