Job summary

Vita Group is seeking a Maintenance Operative in Manchester (M15). The role involves responding to maintenance requests across facilities, carrying out planned maintenance, and conducting inspections to ensure high building standards for Vita Student properties.

You will undertake repairs, basic decorating, and outdoor upkeep while following strict safety procedures. The position is permanent, 45 hours per week, with a salary of £28,500 per annum plus bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling systems.
• Ability to follow safety regulations and procedures.
• IT literate with basic systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests, promptly addressing reports of issues with plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, lighting, furniture and other equipment.
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and perform scheduled tasks.
• Perform general repairs such as fixing leaks, damaged fixtures, doors and walls.
• Carry out minor tasks like replacing flooring, repairs to furniture, and touch-up painting and decorating.
• Maintain outdoor areas including grass-cutting and hedge trimming.
• Ensure safety compliance and adherence to safety procedures.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm (Flexibility may be offered).

This is a customer-facing environment where you will be responsible for maintaining Vita Student’s highest building standards.

Our Maintenance Operatives

• Respond to maintenance requests, promptly addressing student and staff reports of issues with plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, lighting, furniture, and other equipment.
• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
• Conduct regular inspections of residence facilities to identify potential issues and performing scheduled maintenance tasks
• General repairs, such as fixing minor issues like leaky plumbing, broken fixtures, damaged doors, and wall repairs.
• Performing minor tasks like replacing flooring, repairing furniture, and touch-up painting & decorating.
• Ground works, maintaining the upkeep of outdoor areas such as grass-cutting & hedge-trimming/shaping.
• Safety compliance. Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures when performing maintenance tasks.
