Job summary

Siamo Recruitment, a division of Siamo Group, is recruiting a Maintenance Operative for Cranfield University on a temporary contract. The role involves hands-on facilities maintenance across a busy university, with 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, and pay at £15.97 per hour.

You will collect and deliver items, set up rooms, carry out maintenance tasks, assist with safety procedures, and support contractors, while following health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver furniture, equipment, machinery, goods, hazardous chemicals and gases to departments across the University.
• Set up rooms with furniture, fixtures and fittings as required.
• Erect and dismantle equipment for graduations, events and other University activities.
• Carry out general building maintenance tasks, including clearing, cleaning and jet washing areas.
• Undertake window cleaning and painting works associated with ongoing building maintenance.
• Provide support to the Facilities Maintenance team and University contractors.
• Assist with statutory compliance testing where required.
• Unblock sinks and toilets as instructed by the Plumbing Team Leader.
• Replace toilet seats and carry out other general maintenance duties.
• Ensure appropriate health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Use computer-based systems for timesheets and work tickets following appropriate training.
• Undertake other duties within the general remit of the role as directed by the Director of Facilities.
