Job summary

Serenita Care Home in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a Maintenance Officer to keep the building and grounds safe, well maintained and fully operational for up to 34 residents with complex needs.

You will perform repairs, inspections and installations while ensuring safety standards and regulatory requirements are met. The role works closely with the Home Manager to plan maintenance and coordinate contractors on-site.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities or similar role.
• General repairs, electrical and building maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Proactive, practical and problem solving approach.
• Reliable and organised within a care environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance tasks across the building and grounds.
• Perform repairs, inspections, installations and upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and safety features are working and address issues.
• Support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination.
• Work safely in an occupied care environment with residents.
